Welcome to our home on the web,
My name is Evonne Clark and I am the 2008/2009 Redding Women's Rodeo Association Captain. I have been a member since 1982 and have previously served as Captain in 1994 and 1996. I have also enjoyed riding for the RWRA and currently ride on the Redding Rodeo Association drill team for over 16 years. I've participated in Color Guard competition at the Cow Palace, sponsor flags, local parades and served as a parent advisor and drillmaster for the Redding Junior Rodeo Association. I'm excited to see the RWRA drill team compete in Reno in 2009!
I am proud to acknowledge my daughter, Kris, who is also a RWRA member for 17 years and a past Captain of the RJRA.
This year my goals for the RWRA are to continue to support our affiliated clubs in any way possible because we have an atmosphere like a large extended family. We plan on continuing our community involvement by hosting tack swaps, trail rides, horse shows and providing financial contributions to wonderful groups like the Lions Club for maintenance of our community flag and Angels With Wings.
In my spare time, I enjoy my three horses, trail riding, traveling, working in my yard and camping in the mountains. I also support Relay for Life through my work.
During my previous term, our club was much smaller. I'm pleased to see the increase in our membership, which indicates more women are supporting our western way of life. If any of you are interested in joining the Redding Women's Rodeo Association, please give us a call or attend our monthly meeting held the second Wednesday in the clubhouse. It is an honor to once again hold this position and I hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Evonne Clark

2009 Redding Womens Rodeo Association Drill Team
Welcome rodeo fans! This year our team is comprised of 16 riders, 12 line riders, 3 flag carriers and one alternate rider. Most of the riders on our team have been riding together for about 5 years, but when we first got together most of us had never ridden on a drill team before. We came into drill from all disciplines of riding, from western to english and from team penning, team sorting and trail riding to Quarter Horse showing. As varied as our previous riding disciplines are, we all have one thing in common: We love our horses and we love to ride! We are wives, mothers, sister, and aunts and our 8 to 5 lives put us working in banks, salons, medical offices, for veterinarians, on school buses, and in the real estate industry. We have been working really hard, practicing at least 2 times a week, sometimes more and are excited about having the opportunity to compete in the Western States Drill Team Competition in Reno, NV in mid June. We are proud to have Rick Williams as our Drill Master for a third year. With 16 women on horseback in the arena at one time, as you can imagine, he is a man of great patience. And no matter how tough he is on us, we all know that he is also our greatest cheerleader. So from the riders of the Redding Women's Rodeo Association Drill Team, sit back, hold on and enjoy the ride!

It has been my pleasure to be the RWRA Drill Master the last 3 years.
These are not your average cookie baking young women, moms and grandmas. These are hard ridding, get it done cowgirls. It takes more guts than you can imagine to do some of the high speed precision maneuvers that these girls do with ease and perfection. We have practiced countless hours to bring you the best show in town.
The RWRA Drill team will be traveling to Reno in June to compete in the Western States Drill Team Competition. Sit back and enjoy the show and thank you for joining us for the 61st Redding Rodeo.
